Mohammad (Mo) Alavi, a transplanted Iranian scientist and medical doctor is in the grip of selective amnesia that started ever since he lost his partner, Aden Birch, in Iraq during Desert Storm. He has accepted a position in Cook County General in Chicago, which is a conservative organization headed by Dr. Steven Wong. In addition to holding the position of chief of staff, Wong is a nationally renowned virologist, who has his own agenda regarding homosexuality. Mo is desperate. He loses time and place. His state of mind has pushed him to the edge of insanity. He can no longer differentiate dreams from memories. Even his physical reality has become a plaything of his delusions: is he in a gay bar in Chicago or in Louisville where he met Aden? Is he in North Carolina or in his living room pondering a murder? Is he a healer or a killer? Alone and lost, he tries to find answers. What is he running away from -- secrets he doesn?t remember, the dreams of his mixed-up mind, Wong, himself?
