The lives of these three people intertwine in El Paso, Texas, a modern, desert border town with a complex, over four-hundred year history and a rich cultural legacy. A hidden El Paso emerges, one that they never had seen, but one that had existed for a very long time, revealing a connection between the modern El Paso and the medieval colonial outpost. The mysteries of the original native inhabitants and the Spanish Conquistadors and colonists, slavery, the blending of the races, gold, blood, the diverse personalities of the characters, and the pristine desert landscape all play into this tale.
