We are all addicted to love. We all have a desperate need for real love. Our need for real love can be seen all around us: countless young women giving their bodies away for love, professional adults turning to substance abuse to fill a void in their lives, marriages breaking apart at an unprecedented rate. We live in a world that prescribes money, sex, cheap thrills, and quick pleasures to fill our need for love. With all of the things available to us to fulfill our deepest needs, we would think that we would all be happy and satisfied. But the truth is that we are more depressed, lonely, and disconnected than ever before. Even with all of our world's technological advances and social media, we find ourselves more detached and depressed than ever. Nothing gives us the peace, joy, and love we are looking for. Our deep desire for love goes unmet in this fast paced world in which we live. Despite all of our world's promises to fill our needs and meet our every desire, only one thing can truly fulfill our deep desire for love. The Bible says the following about God's love for us: Romans 8:38-39, For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. God has a radical love for our lives. God has a love that is beyond anything that we could possibly imagine. God has a love that will meet our deepest, heartfelt need.
