This true story is set in the Victorian Era. It follows the life of Thomas Dobson, who started and ended his life in a workhouse. He lived in the garrison city of Canterbury, Kent, where he became a Master Baker. In the 1800s the city faced many social problems including poverty, theft, police corruption, prostitution, poor sanitation, health issues, and intoxication.
