The Founding Fathers of the United States, all wealthy white men, felt strongly that only they were entitled to rule our new country. They enshrined this belief in law by limiting suffrage to men like themselves: male, white, property owners. This method was ultimately unsuccessful, and was overthrown in a series of forceful actions by the poor, by women, and by people with darker skin. Most of us now have the right to vote; we just don't have the right to have those votes counted in a transparent election. The Founding Fathers were deep thinkers who left little to chance. Their first control method failed, as they must have realized it would. But they built a second control method into our government that's main purpose is subtly concealed. Instead of a democracy our new country was formed as a republic. In a republic a small group of representatives are elected to implement the will of the people --- but in the United States our elected representatives do not represent the vast majority. Our representatives work exclusively for the people who enable their election and their access to power and money. Once elected, our politicians pay back or curry favor from those who support them by selling them public assets, or favorable legislation, or profitable wars, at insultingly low prices. The People's Congress is a Bribe Bazaar for the wealthy, replete with amazing bargains paid for by the rest of us. This Handbook outlines a specific plan designed to break this corrupt system and force the establishment of a true representative democracy in the United States. Our country is being systematically stripped of its assets while time is running out and we plunge blindly toward climate change and peak oil. Protests and meek letters to representatives who do not represent us will not work. It is time to try more forceful methods.
