Born in Houston Texas, DARRELL LATHAN is the second of four sons born to Shirley Lathan (of Houston) and Creighton Green (Appaloosa Louisiana). Raised by his grandmother, he spent his early years growing up in the Fifth Ward District of Houston Texas later to graduate from Booker T. Washington High School. After briefly attending Texas Southern University and working odd jobs to help support his family, he spent many years as a Retail Manager. Where he met his wife Alicia. Being a son, husband, father, brother, and friend left little time to pursue his dreams. After years of suppressing old feelings of bringing his poems to life, he decided to retrieve his memoirs, 20 years later from the corner of his garage. And now, to life they have become.
