After searching for seven years, a group of mercenaries known as the Mercarian Guild finally locate a former agent gone rogue known as David Smith. His destructive actions are finally halted with his death in Japan, leaving behind a journal that few know about and none understand. Six weeks later, a small-time gang takes an auditorium full of students hostage at Parker Community College. Their one demand is the journal of David Smith. As the local police are forced into an alliance with the Mercarian Guild rife with suspicion, a mysterious vigilante begins killing members of the gang one by one. In retaliation, the gang begins executing hostages, triggering a race to locate the journal and prevent the vigilante from causing more deaths. As suspicion turns to desperation and they begin nearing their goals, everyone is faced with the realization that a terrifying event looms on the horizon. One that none will be able to ignore, nor forget.
