Blood Rush is the story of a girl named Helena Bachman who is half vampire / half ghoul that lives with her brother who is of the same breed. They lost their parents when they were young which forced them to be raised by their vampire uncle named Victor. She's a writer for a local newspaper tabloid where she uses the job as a cover to ask questions about supernatural beings in hopes to learn more about herself. After her brother gets kidnapped by a group of creatures she sets out to rescue him. In her search she meets a mysterious vampire superhero named Church Rudding. Church is accompanied by his "side kick" a smart mouthed, sarcastic, flesh obsessed ghoul named Clyde. Church is a different kind of vampire because he has the ability to talk to the dead. Helena persuades the duo to help her search for her brother. As the story progresses we learn of Helena's past and her supernatural abilities that makes her character truly come alive.
