Chad, Tim and Amy grew up in the small town of Mulburn. Chad and Amy were childhood sweethearts and vowed to get married one day at Mulburn Christian Church. Mulburn Christian is the church where all three of them together attended. Chad's strong Christian faith starts to weaken when he moved to Romania to complete missionary work. Years later, Chad returns back to Mulburn only to find it completely different of how he remembered. He discovers that his grandmother is gravely ill. He attends medical school and takes on the medical community with a relentless zeal. Then he meets a nurse, Samantha Bering, and his life entirely changes.
