BROKEN PROPHET is a historical novel. The main character is Jesus of Nazareth (known as Jesus Christ in Christianity). Although the account is largely fictional, it's infused with historical presumptions affirmed by methodical biblical scholarship. The story assumes that locations and persons revealed in the four New Testament Gospels are genuine. Involving a combination of dialogue and narrative, along with distinctive renderings from biblical passages, the storyline is as enlightening as it is fascinating because it bountifully elaborates upon Jesus' affairs and calling. Jesus is portrayed as a down-to-earth Jewish man, and the narrative is a heartwarming depiction dealing with his relationships and consuming interests. It fills-in his missing years and personal details, specifically delineating his motivations and convictions by incorporating episodes and scenarios that strive for plausibility. It acknowledges that Jesus' world was unscientific, miraculous, and superstitious, while his deportment was conditioned by the certainty that he accepted the Mosaic Law, revered the sacred writings, and adhered to Jewish protocols, customs, and prejudices of his day. Central to the plot is the fact that Jesus comes to believe God will soon cleanse the land of all unrighteousness, compelling him to embark upon a mission to warn the Jewish population of Palestine about the impending upheavals he expects will lead to the establishment of God's Kingdom on Earth.
