A Hunting Diary Newton Apperley
A Hunting Diary
Newton Apperley
Originally published in 1926 shortly after the author?s death. Apperley was a well known hunting and shooting man who rode with some 39 different packs of hounds, mostly in Wales. From 1864 to 1920 he rode 212 different horses to hound. The illustrated contents include: The Diary and Its Author ? Some Welsh Sportsmen ? Country Seats and their Hunts ? Mountain Hunting ? Fox Hunting ? Hounds ? Hare Hunting ? Otter Hunting ? Marten-Cat Hunting ? Foumart Hunting ? The Hunting Diary. Many of the earliest field sports books, particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive. Home Farm Books are republishing many of these classic works in affordable, high quality, modern editions, using the original text and artwork.
