SYNOPSIS

The Mayses have worked hard to achieve a comfortable middle-class life. So it is with much despair that they watch their happy home life unravel because of one child's attitude toward her sister-all because of the shade of her skin. Following a downward spiral, the family is then torn further apart by an unimaginable tragedy. But somehow they manage to pick themselves up and continue with their lives, albeit without two of their family members. All that they can do is hold out hope that the one family member who can return home will.
