Bates Bethel Bates

Hot Buttered Biscuits and Jam the Memoirs of Seven Bates Bethel Bates

A dramatic and compelling story of friendship, family, and one woman's plight; in her search for self love, truth, understanding, and her unmitigated gall to attempt to change the course of history as she knew it. Cadence takes a painful but necessary journey, through the contents of her marital relationship, and the involvement of the women in her ancestral life line who suffered through seemingly similar adversities, as it relates to the significance of the number seven.

She struggles with the basis of how and why they all found themselves trapped in cruel and loveless circumstances despite their efforts; how they sacraficed their dreams, aspirations, and even their sanity, for the men whom they'd loved, but for reasons beyond a larger scope, could never love them back.
