He did many back flips trying to be accepted into a family that was completely different from his relatives. He worked two jobs and changed his entire life, and he hoped to reach the social level of Rose's prominent family. Rose,was a daughter of a very outstanding minister and her mother was also a professional person. She lived the life of a very privileged daughter. Rev. Simmons believed that his church members and his family should display very high morals in their daily lives.
