Toward the Setting Sun Nick Ramliak
Toward the Setting Sun
Nick Ramliak
This book was written from 1998-2000 throughout various cities including Amsterdam, Prague, Copenhagen, Zagreb, Paris, Berlin and New York. The collection of short passages contained between these covers moves with a sort of invention and spontaneity found in Kerouac's Mexico City Blues and Chopin's Preludes offset with an Eastern Zen-like flavor. The result is a macrocosm within a microcosm which is in essence, perhaps, the greatest aspect of what this art form we call poetry has to offer us. People, places, ideas and events find their way through abstract surreal landscapes with echoes of Philip K. Dick, Borges, Carlos Castaneda, Alan Ginsberg, and T. S. Elliot.
