In the Company of Fishers Ken Boire

In the Company of Fishers, follows a day in the life of Moosemeat John. Old John is a legend among fishers. The story is strong, the pace fast, and the writing rich. These characters get inside your skin and you will hear them inside your head.

By their choice, many American men and women are commercial fishers. Most of them work in hard and dangerous conditions to earn a meager living. What is the worth of such a life? Who would choose this? What is it like?

Not given to eloquence, they say, "It looks different from the inside. It feels good to be free, to work, to make your own way." They develop the power of relationships reserved for soldiers, sailors, and marines during wartime. The bonds of friendship are forged on the cusp of a storm or crises at sea, or in the beauty of the setting sun far offshore. There is a time for all fishers.
