This book was prepared over many years of myworking in school administration. I have unfortunately seen many verygood teacher candidates not get a job because of poor interviewingskills, incomplete resumes, and just not being prepared for theinterview process. With more and more people wanting to work ineducation that have not come through the "normal" ranks of collegeteacher training, it is even more imperative for the candidate to dohis/her homework to get their first teaching position. The Boy Scoutsof America have a saying of "Be Prepared." This is true for the newteacher looking for her/his first job or the veteran teacher wanting totransfer to a new assignment. As our population grows in America, we will need more and moreteachers who are skilled in areas that I never saw when I started ineducation over 37 years ago. The challenges will increase and thefrustrations will mount but you will find that teaching is a job that youwill love more as the years pass. I hope that the tips in this book willbe useful to you as you start your journey into a very rewarding andexciting career.
