My Mate or My Maker is a look inside of the life of a Christian woman, wife and mother, juggling a relationship between herself and her "Mate", while trying to maintain a personal relationship with her "Maker", raising her family, and maintaining a productive life of her own. The struggle begins when her marriage experiences many difficulties, resulting in the majority of her time and efforts being spent on trying to please her Mate and save her threatened marriage. Slowly, she loses focus of the purpose of her relationship with her "Maker", and her faith and dedication are replaced by fear of a failed relationship and feelings of emotional pain and insecurity. Her overall desire is to be happy and content in her marriage while she evolves in her relationship with her Maker and finds her own self worth within that relationship. How do you accomplish both? How do you know when a decision has to be made between the two? Have you ever been in a position where you felt you had to choose between your Mate and your Maker? This book was written based on the personal experiences of the author in regards to her two relationships and her decision to live according to what was most important in her life. She made a decision that she never thought she would have the strength to make. It led her to a place she never thought she would be.
