Is your horse a Rock Star? A Wall Flower? A Prize Fighter? A Steady Eddy? Dessa Hockley's light-hearted and informative book will help you see your horse in a new way. By combining the 8 personality traits - Dominant or Submissive, Energetic or Lazy, Curious or Afraid, Friendly or Aloof - sixteen possible personalities emerge. Take the horse personality quiz at the back of the book or online at www.horsepersonalities.com. Are you looking for the ideal equine match? Are you wondering what makes a particular horse tick? Do you want to improve your partnership with a difficult mount? Or do you just want to explore a new and informative approach to understanding horses? As we delve deeper into our relationships with horses, we see that they, not unlike us, have distinct personalities. Knowing this, we are able to appreciate and relate to them more fully, and even laugh when they reveal who they really are. The book describes the 8 traits and each of the sixteen personalities including how to better understand individual horses, their needs, what motivates them, what activities best suit them, and how to approach their training, exercise, and even their retirement. Dave Elston provides humorous cartoon drawings of each of the personalities. Benefit from Dessa Hockley's lifelong love affair with horses and her experience with horses across a broad spectrum of equine sports.
