Greywolf, is the first in a series of adventures of Megan Brady, an archaeology graduate student at the University of Calgary, Canada. Meg accompanies a friend to find evidence that their village is a sacred site. Meg has three days to use her knowledge and skills to save the land from destruction. Unfortunately for Meg and Greywolf, the land has already been approved for commercial use and the company's president will not let anything post-pone his work. Meg's life is endangered more than once by both natural and unnatural elements. She must win the trust of tribal members who are suspicious of this outsider, while keeping her own ethics and emotions in check. This story is just one in a series concentrating on Native American tribes and their culture. Each story contains a unique challenge to Meg who is learning of ancient cultures through oral traditions. Oral traditions and historical representations specific to each Nation are factual, and each describes the requirements and ethics archaeologists are bound by. There are explanations for many processes that archaeologists use. Greywolf has action, adventure, mystery, and a hint of romance. Greywolf is not a stereo typical 'white man' verses' native Indian' story. I thighlights an issue that many Native groups still struggle with-the destruction of land that is sacred.
