The object of this Brochure is simply to call the attention of British Silk Manufacturers to the gradual but certain replacement, in all but the most elaborate Silk fabrics of the traditional Hand-Ioom Weaving for which Lyons for centuries has been so famous, by that of the Power-loom in which so many gradual improvements on the Continent in recent pears have been made. Originally published in 1893.
