Greatest Common Measure.--The greatest common measure of two or more numbers is the greatest number that will divide them without a remainder. The Least Common Multiple, generally written L. C. M., is the least number which contains two or more numbers exactly. The common plan to find the L. C. M. is to arrange the numbers in a line, and after examining them cross out any that are contained in the others, or that will divide into either of the others, without leaving a remainder.
