Is it possible that the Lord's Prayer (found in Matthew and Mark's Gospels) was developed as a response to the creation of the Amidah? Blessing twelve in the Amidah is a direct assault against the fledgling Christian faith. If the Jewish-Christians asked the question about adopting the Amidah, it is possible that Saint Paul developed the Lord's Prayer to answer that question. This work is an examination of that possibility.
