Luigi Benadetti was born in the Lower East Side of New York. He was destined to be a gangster though after a falling out with another Mafia family he needed a bolt hole in which he could lie low. He found this in the Amish country of Lancaster County in Pennsylvania. There he met and married a young Mennonite woman and they lived there in the township of Intercourse. After a series of tragedies they moved to New York and as the FBI was on his tail he decided to turn informer and was ultimately placed in the Witness Protection Programme'Ben and his wife were relocated to California where he eventually became sheriff of the county. They grew tired of life out west and returned to Amish country, while there his wife died making Ben to travel to New York to take up his Mafia activities. There he met and married a ballerina and after a series of setbacks they lived a good life together.
