Pain of the past can determine both our lives, and those of our children. Every person has some form of pain from their past. Most cases of pain occur in our childhood. It is important that we as parents do not project our negative life experience onto our children. Each child is born with a unique character and personality. You cannot be the best parent for your child if there is still unresolved pain from your past. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, you can discover the pain of the past and replace the hurt with God's healing power and love, so that the pain does not pass on to your children. It is very important that we as parents do not project our negative experiences to our children. We as parents must respect each child's unique character and personality, and acknowledge it is unique to the child. If we as a parent deal with our past, overcome our pain, and in live in victory, we give the greatest gift to our children: a happy, healthy parent to whom they can look up to, admire, imitate, and love so that they too can be happy and healthy parents for their children one day.
