Our Constitution
Keith Allen Lehman
The Constitution of the United States was written so citizens could understand its content, because if People are to "self-rule" they must know and understand the rules of law. However, as time passed, lawyers, judges, politicians, journalists and even authors established the myth that only those trained in political science or the field of law can understand its content and purposes. This led to what has been termed as "legislating from the bench" - moving away from the original purpose of what the Founders had created so wisely.
