An adoption, a legend, and a concealed treasure... When a seemingly simple phone call leads Juli to move to New Orleans, she has to come to terms with her loveless marriage. As she tries to absorb the fact that she suddenly has a long lost sibling, she also has to learn to accept a troubled niece, a newborn in need of a mother, and a deranged treasure hunter who's intent on destroying anyone who stands in his way. Moving presents several problems, not the least of which is permanent housing. When she discovers she's inherited her parents' home, parents she never knew, she is soon embraced by her mother's friends. The little coven not only welcomes her with open arms, but does what they can to make sure that she and the newborn are safe in her ancestral home. With a new man in her life, she thinks she may finally be ready to face the future and find the happiness she's longed for. But as the treasure hunter narrows his search, the occasional dead crow and random token begin appearing on her porch, along with a brick that crashes through a window in the middle of the night. Shaken, Juli finds comfort and wisdom in a surprising source. The only problem is that it comes from her deceased mother, and everything she shares with Juli seems to be spoken in code. Will her stubbornness and lack of fear be enough to save her and her newfound family? Can she solve the mystery of the missing treasure before it's too late, before another loved one is harmed or killed?
