From the Window of God's Waiting Room
Bonnie Papenfuss
Retirement holds precious dreams of quality time with family and friends, world travel, spousal togetherness, and the discovery of new interests. What begins as nirvana, however, morphs into the frequently humorous and oftentimes heartbreaking reality that you're getting old. Very old. While poking fun of herself-and occasionally her husband-the writer tackles topics ranging from complicated family relationships to her puzzlement over why men find it necessary to expel excess saliva and the horror of discovering her first chin hair. With wit, honesty, and a bit of tongue-in-cheek tossed about to amuse the reader, this author takes you on a journey through her first fifteen years of retirement "bliss."
