Since The Old War led to disastrous nuclear fallout, The Founding Family established a new nation of Elites, Sub-Elites and commoners. Arielle is a commoner living her life in The Republique, a power city of Elites. However, unlike the other commoners, she is special, having been born with the power to heal. For as long as she could remember, her purpose is to serve The Elites who frequent The Holly-Oaks Centre of Beauty and Wellness, with her ability to keep them young and well. Little does she know about the others like her in the outside world, known as magi, born with the ability to manipulate the many elements, including the earth, water, wind and fire. Her life is turned upside down when her only friend is suddenly taken from her, leading to the grisly demise of the man responsible. Soon after she meets The Assassins, who are on a mission from The Underground - a rebel group, heralded by The Colonel - to dismantle The Republique's Elites in power, including the current Chancellor. With the assassination of The Chancellor, a greater evil starts to fester in the world, and a new foe, Vice-Chancellor Chvostek, rises to power, determined to form a new human race with the DNA of those with special abilities like Arielle. Having escaped The Holly-Oaks Centre, Arielle discovers a world outside to what she has known her whole life, all the while learning about a family she once had, and navigating a newfound power within her, threatening to break forth and destroy those around her.
