Law Enforcement Firearms Analysis by Jorma Jussila is a comprehensive study into various legal, procedural, quality and technical aspects and complexities of police firearms procurement. It starts with a review of key International Law documents drawing legal conclusions and making procedural recommendations. It then looks into establishing requirements and aspects of tender competitions followed by introduction to necessary mathematical and statistical tools of testing and quality control. Description of injury ballistics and measurement methods is followed by external ballistic techniques and requirements for various service firearm and ammunition types. A special section is dedicated to harmful emissions of ammunition relevant to occupational health. The text is complemented with an extensive bibliography for further studies. This book gives an insight for police officers, police command, lawyers and civilians alike to understand the legal, technical and logistic complexities. The author has over 50 years' experience in firearms and shooting. He has obtained a PhD in injury ballistics and has worked for 27 years in the Finland police of which 15 as a senior advisor on small arms technology.
