Moon Bold Kids

The Moon was formed around 4.5 billion years ago from a great collision of planet-class objects. It is currently widely accepted that the Moon formed in the outer space and that it is quite similar in composition to the earth. It is also widely accepted that the Moon is the fourth largest object in our solar system, and is the second- brightest object in the night sky after the Sun. At night it appears to be very dark, almost as if it has just been submerged in water, but it doesn't actually get so dark because the Sun's light fades into the blue horizon.
