Bold Kids
Elephants play a vital role in our daily lives. They provide us with their milk in the form of teats which we drink and they catch the wildebeests as their food. Elephants spend most of the day at night hunting prey. On an average, African elephants take about three days to hunt their prey. Elephants live alone in the wild. They roam in groups called herds. A single herd contains about 200 elephants. The number of herds can be seen from the number of animals molting. A single herd will usually consist of up to ten mothers with their babies. The younger elephants stay with the mothers and the older elephants take care of the babies.
