A complacent senior witch must team up with a trigger-happy, anti-magic human to survive a literal witch hunt in modern day Los Angeles, while a 12 year old fairy boy discovers his stance on the treachery of his family and the fairy court. ---Sylvia Hargrove is an elderly witch who has her life just the way she likes it: labeled, private, and sterile. The witches can't drive out of L. A. - they narrowly avoid a car accident on the highway. They can't hide - the fairies find them without fail. And they definitely can't wait, because the fairies get stronger with every witchblood they kill. All that's left is to... ask for immunity from the Fairy Court itself? Sylvia and her band of survivors are just desperate enough to follow an internet rumor into the heart of the Fairy Court. Armed with their wits, some hastily-learned battle magic and one human with a gun, they charge towards a hard-won and bittersweet victory. Thom, a 12-year-old fairy boy, is the grandson of an influential fairy Queen and potential heir to the family's mining empire. When his parents bring him along to Court in Los Angeles to learn more about the Harvest, he hates it and just wants to go home to climb trees, where he doesn't have to worry about Court niceties. However, after watching his mother attack an unsuspecting and vulnerable witch, he begins for the first time to question the methods of the fairies - and to question his loyalties.
