From Cage to Couch, a true story of rescue is an emotional, sometimes hilarious rollercoaster ride of the laboratory test beagle we rescued from Spain, once known as Number 7, he became our Chief. Have you ever seen the footage of laboratory beagles released from their cages for the first time after years of being test subjects? Those tentative, un-natural steps said, "There's a world outside this cage and I want you to help me find it." The obstacles Chief had to overcome that a "regular" dog doesn't included learning to eat and drink from a bowl, how to wag his tail, how to play, and how to interact with his new pack, to name just a few. That first year he touched our lives - forever. This isn't just about Chief's journey, but mine as well; learning to relax and let go of the control panel, be open to learning life's lessons from a gangly "lab rat" beagle dog - now our beautiful 'Chief'
