Rhapsody for September: Love Letters was composed under various influences of love or what I believed so. They do not, however, represent any particular doctrine or construct held on the subject of love or how one must engage the emotions regarding it. Some of these letters are connected to specific relationships, others are not. The diverse nature of these writings show how the heart can be fashioned, caressed, and even shattered by words composed in the name of love. I only hope to show through these letters that God's love for me has multiplied my ability to love and has given me the strength and endurance needed when I have felt betrayed by love, or have myself betrayed love given from the heart and that the unconditional love that flows from the heart of God has forever affected how I see, engage, and give love. It you are reading this book, it is my hope that you will find the love that shapes the heart into pure unadulterated joy-that you will not allow anything to sabotage your right and will to give love, whether it is the intimate love between husband and wife or the love of God that reaches across nations, peoples and tongues and illuminates all that the world lacks when love does not exist. It doesn't matter how many times the heart has been wounded and left bereft of song; it has been bestowed the greatest and profoundest of all life's mission-to love. Where there is love there is the will to forgive and love again. No one can teach the heart how to love a husband or wife, or anyone for that matter-only the heart that surrenders to the highest of all love can ever hope to know the power, purpose and joy of true unconditional Love.
