Every day we watch the news we are constantly reminded the world is a dangerous place. Whether we are talking road rage, a home invasion, an active shooter event, terrorist activity or other civilian mass casualty incidents law abiding citizens are being forced to increase their level of situational awareness, and enhance both their self-defense IQ, as well as their weapon handling capabilities. Defensive Handgun II was written to help law abiding citizens enhance their knowledge of safe firearm handling and equip them with solid defensive handgun skills. It is often said that self-defense is a mindset, however the mindset without practical defensive skills is a hallucination. Our goal is to help make our readers and live fire workshop participants become instructor independent, verses instructor dependent. Thus, in our training and instruction, we help handgun owners master simple, repeatable defensive tactics, techniques and procedures that are implementable under stress. However, with any new process or technique, training can only expose you to concepts, however only practice can build skills. It is our goal to give you the concepts and practical drills to aid in the knowledge transfer and skill development. In the words of a great martial arts practitioner Grandmaster David James, "There is no such thing as effortless self-defense." Self-defense is a verb not a noun, so to increase your ability to extend your protection capabilities you must take action.
