Bridge Green Farm Girl
Caroline Simmons
Polly was a war baby, an only child doted on by all the adults around her. Her precocious early life, full of fascinating details of farming and domesticity, is documented here. Growing up on a working farm, living, as many did then, without running water, indoor facilities or electronic entertainment. This is a story of warmth, charm and humour which will entertain and amuse. It will strike a familiar chord with anyone who grew up during the immediate post-war years, and be an eye-opener for people used to modern conveniences. Enjoy these memories of a very different time, a time which was, for Polly, idyllic.
