For private school teacher, Addra Lake, September has always come with a flurry of work and optimism. Yet this year, still recovering from the hit and run accident that nearly took her life, Addra is troubled. The accident stole her safety and her certainty in the goodness of those around her. This feeling of menace increases when a murderer steps out of the shadows to kill the father of one of her students.
