This book deals with God's dealings with Israel and their unfaithful towards Him. The Northern Kingdom which was predominantly led by Jeroboam and the tribe of Ephraim drifted away from God's commandments and worshipped other gods. God considered their unfaithfulness as spiritual adultery. Gomer, who became prostitute and later another man's possession, was bought by Hosea at a price and loved her. God promised to restore them. God resurrected Israel as a Nation; yet many are yet to accept Jesus Christ as their Messiah. They will receive Promised Land in full, in the Millennium.
