The Wicked Hotelman is a story of a young Polish émigré who arrives in Canada in the 1960s escaping Communism. She yearns for home and stability, but falls in love and marries a German hotelier, unaware of his Nazi background and demands of his career. The novel takes place in Banff, Alberta. Her story centers on the Banff Springs Hotel that her husband manages in the 1970s. An ideological and moral conflict destroys the marriage. It is a tale of ambition, love, betrayal and ultimately revenge.
