A flurry of activity follows her decision to divorce Maynard Jefferson Dewolf. The untimely death of the leading candidate of the Republican Party leaves the Traditional Value American movement without a leader. Organizers fly to Idaho to convince Joni to be their candidate. When she accepts the whole nation shudders--for the first time in history the battle for President is between the former First Lady and the incumbent.
