Fred O. Batiste hasn't had a nightmare since he was a young boy. As an enforcement specialist for a Chicago crime family, there is not much that keeps Fred up at night. When a nightmare wakes him suddenly, he is surprised. When he sees the dead body of a young woman in his bed, he is alarmed and confused. She is worried enough that she enlists the aid of her boyfriend Tim, an attorney and recovering alcoholic, to hire private detective Mark Hamilton. Their parallel paths to finding answers will become a collision course that forces each of them to face the truth that addictions don't all look the same, and their resolution is sometimes deadly.
