You hear the horror stories that people tell when dealing with the government, whether on a state level or federal level. You just smile at stories like that because it isn't happening to you, it's the other guy. You hear stories about bad divorces and parents that don't pay support. You smile because that's not you. You are lucky, your divorce is final, you pay your child support and things are fine. You aren't one of those deadbeats or so you believe. Then one day, you learn you are thousands of dollars in the arrears, your passport is taken, and any tax returns you may get are confiscated and people want to put you in jail. You think they are crazy and you try to correct the problems. You argue, hire attorneys, and go to state court, and then file a federal lawsuit. You find that no one seems to care about your divorce decree and they do what they want. On top of that with no legal experience, you represent yourself in federal court.
