West Point and Valley Forge Libby Hughes

More than 3,000 of General George Washington's troops died from cold, hunger, and smallpox while encamping at Valley Forge. This is the story of that harsh winter, the victories that followed, and the founding of the Valley Forge National Historical Park. West Point has a rich history, dating from 1802 as the United States Military Academy. Famous generals, such as Robert Lee, Douglas MacArthur, and Norman Schwarzkopf spent their university years here. The daily life of the cadets is described along with anecdotes about the old generals.
