It is the year 2303. The world has been ravaged by the dreamscape virus, driving billions into the madness of nightmares they cannot wake from.

But while those infected struggle through survival in the quarantine areas of the planet called the DOX, some cities have managed to hang on to relative normalcy. These pockets are called Protectorates, and they are controlled by ministries that ensure the citizens remain safe behind magnetic borders called Fences. Their rule is ensured by the Agents, a combination of secret police and intelligence officers, who carry out clandestine operations across the globe.

Aveen and his team of three others rise through the ranks of the organization to become the top Agents in the Romanian Protectorate, but things become complicated when the team is contacted by an operative inside the DOX everyone believed was long dead. This coincides with a rescue mission for a scientist kidnapped by the enemy, and the secrets he reveals shakes their belief in the Protectorate. This faith is finally shattered by the shocking revelations of the lost operative, which force Aveen and his friends to question everything they have done for the Protectorate, and how Clarion, the enemy they have spent their lives fighting, is far from what it seems.
