A boy and girl born a year apart in 1950's Los Angeles grow up under much different circumstances before meeting as young teenagers and falling in love. Gaby becomes a child actress early on in life, helping to support her struggling family with work in television, theatre, and modeling as her childhood career spans from Broadway to 'Leave it to Beaver'. Franklin is a deeply troubled boy who discovers a lifeline in school sports. After meeting at a Hollywood High School function in 1967, they embark on a two-year love affair that ends in calamity and heartbreak. Their lives take separate paths with Franklin eventually finding his way to the NFL, and Gaby persevering in her own special purpose. But each will uncover ultimate reclamation in a magical and most unlikely way.
