Laylah Mostafa has never thought much about love, that is until she meets Sam Hart, the blue-eyed astrophysicist that moves in across the road. But life is rarely this easy and Laylah's conservative Muslim parents refuse to accept Sam. So Laylah must choose where she wants to belong. To her religion or Sam. To her community or Sam. To her parents or Sam. Where does her duty lie? Her own happiness? Or the happiness of the people that sacrificed everything, travelled from worn-torn Syria to New Zealand for a better life. Ultimately Laylah must make the hardest choice of all, can she simply belong to herself?
