A collection of poetry from R. de Wolf, with something for everyone. She has written many of the poems on a wide variety of prompts from English words and kupu Maori. Initially, the book was made for family gifts, but as de Wolf began to write explanations for each piece on what inspired the poem, how she came to choose a form, and the method behind creating the poem - Poetry in a Pear Tree metamorphosised into more than a light-hearted read. There are funny poems in here that will make you smile, but also a bit of an insight into the author's life, and the light and shade of human existence. The book has the unique hangi-basket flavour of Aotearoa, peppered with Pacific humour. An easy enjoyable read to be enjoyed under a shady tree or at the beach with a cup of tea or glass of wine.
