A casual and sunny Southern feeling comes up when listening to "Homemade Ice Cream" from 1973. Tony Joe White, whose song "Polk Salad Annie" covered by Elvis Presley is perhaps better known than his name, convincingly embodies "Swamp Rock." He grew up with six siblings on a Louisiana cotton plantation and knows how to sing about life with his "swampy voice," as he calls it. In the closing track, "Did somebody make a fool out of you," White shows his best side as a songwriter, singer and guitarist. Fans of Creedence Clearwater Revival will get their money's worth with this double LP, best with a homemade ice cream in hand. We recommend the use of "L'Art du Son" LP cleaner to wet wash your vinyl. Even new records of high quality production will benefit from this.
