Never Take Sweets from a Stranger
1960s British thriller directed by Cyril Frankel. In a small town in eastern Canada, British immigrants Peter and Sally Carter (Patrick Allen and Gwen Watford) are horrified to discover that their nine-year-old daughter Jean (Janina Faye) has been abused by Clarence Olderberry Sr. (Felix Aylmer), a wealthy and prominent figure in the town.
When the Carter family takes legal action, Olderberry uses his power and influence to evade justice, with tragic consequences.
